A really fun, informative, hands-on and - most importantly - tasty introduction to the art of smoking food. Throughout the day we will take you through the difference between hot and cold smoke food preparation. You’ll learn what to do and what not to do with lots of practical examples and activities to get you set up ready to smoke your own food at home.

Having completed the course, you won’t need to go out and spend hundreds of pounds on a smoker…you’ve almost certainly got something in the garage or shed you can use - again, there will be examples for you to look at and try.

In true Exmoor Game School fashion we will use local, seasonal and sustainable fish and game sourced from Exmoor…and we will be using the sawdust from the trees grown on Exmoor to smoke our food: very cool! A delicious smokey lunch is provided and there will be smokey snacks throughout the day.

If having a great day out, learning new skills in a lovely place with lovely people wasn’t enough - the money from this course goes back into running the free Exmoor Game School sessions for kids…a win win!
