Children's Fly Fishing Experience

What are The Exmoor Game School sessions all about? Essentially re-connecting children with their food and where it comes from and how it links to farming on Exmoor. With our roots in education both mainstream and special education - we have seen how empowering and of course fun, it can be for children to learn how to prepare their own food.

This session will look the entire food production process from understanding our quarry (trout), to how to catch, dispatch and prepare them for the oven. We absolutely love fishing, the excitement and satisfaction you get from catching your own food is second to none and we are super keen to share this passion and experience with the children of Exmoor and surrounding areas. Our aim is that every family goes home with an oven ready trout for you all to enjoy...but this is fishing and there are no guarantees.  

A couple of points: 

All children MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

There is an AM and PM session so if it says fully booked it may only be one of these. 

Fly fishing is not quite as hard as it may look but younger children (under 6yrs) may struggle with the size of the rods, co-ordination etc. You know your children though, if you think they will have fun and enjoy the day, then go for it!

We do operate a waiting/reserve list but this is ONLY for the session in question. We just don’t have admin capacity to roll it over.

Don’t forget you can always book a private family or individual session for a time of your choosing.
